Barcelona
The capital of Catalonia, on the shores of the Mediterranean, is an exciting, vibrant city. It offers visitors an eclectic mix of old and new set amidst a city characterised by the architecture of the great artist Gaudi. Students of all subject disciplines will find Barcelona a useful resource thanks to the range of attractions and technical visits available. From the modern Olympic Stadium to the yet to be finished Sagrada Familia Cathedral, Barcelona offers a wealth of opportunities for student groups.
Hotels Comercio/Roma Reial
These 1 Star hotels in historic buildings are simple, clean and comfortable. They are both located just a few minutes apart in the Placa Reial - the heart of central Barcelona and just off the famous Las Ramblas. Student rooms sleep 3 or 4 people and all have private facilities and TV. They offer some of the best value accommodation in central Barcelona but the location right in the centre of the action may make them unsuitable for younger student groups.
Hotel Espana
Good 2 Star hotel nestled in a quiet side street off Las Ramblas. Interestingly it is one of the oldest and most celebrated hotels in Barcelona as part of it was designed by Domenech i Montaner - the famous modernist artist. Student rooms sleep 3-4 and have en-suite facilities. There are also two large dining rooms which boast fantastic painted ceilings.
Hotel AragonThis is a quality 3 star Hotel in Calle Aragon, to the north of Las Ramblas and near to La Sagrada Familia Cathedral. There is a large restaurant, a café/bar and meeting rooms which can be used for evening study (small supplement may apply). Student rooms sleep up to 3 people and have en-suite facilities. Excellent value for money.
