Day One: Salisbury to Oxford

Arriving in London this morning, you will be met by your UK Connection Representative and transferred to your Executive Coach for the 2 hour journey west to the beautiful medieval town of Salisbury via a visit to Stonehenge, the famous prehistoric monument from the Neolithic age. On to Salisbury and Magna Carta the finest medieval cathedral in Britain. The spire of Salisbury Cathedral is the tallest in England. In the Chapter House, you will see the Magna Carta, the famous agreement made between King John and his barons at Runnymede in 1215.
On to Oxford for afternoon for a Guided Walking Tour of the city.
Dinner and overnight in the Oxford area.

Day Two: Oxford to Bath via Longleat

Day trip to Longleat House, Safari and Adventure Park. Longleat House is widely regarded as one of the best examples of high Elizabethan architecture in Britain and one of the most beautiful stately homes open to the public. Enjoy incredibly close encounters with some of the world's most amazing animals in the Longleat drive through Safari Park.
Dinner and overnight in or near Bath.

Day Three: Stratford Upon Avon and Warwick Castle

A full day to Stratford upon Avon and Warwick Castle. This delightful market town at the edge of the Forest of Arden was the birthplace of the world's best-known writer, William Shakespeare. We visit his actual birthplace, a half-timbered house that has been carefully furnished to recreate the interiors as they might have looked during his childhood in the 1570s.
Warwick Castle is so much more than simply a castle. Amongst the imposing towers and ramparts, experience preparations for battle, feel the weight of a sword, witness a magnificent exhibition of wild hawks, see lavishly decorated State Rooms and at certain times of the year, a medieval jousting competition.

Day Four: Bath and Cheddar to London

Morning in the city of Bath. Visit the Roman Baths and spend some time shopping.
Afternoon visit to the caves and the magnificent Cheddar Gorge.
Leave this afternoon for the drive east to London.

Day Five: London

A full day Guided Sightseeing Tour by Coach. Your tour will take you past many of London's most famous monuments - the Houses of Parliament with Big Ben, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square with the statue of Lord Nelson, Pall Mall and much more. Extended stops are made at: the magnificent Gothic Westminster Abbey which has been the venue for every coronation since 1066; Buckingham Palace and Changing of the Guard (not available every day) to witness the Queen's Foot Guard in their red tunics and bearskins marching to the accompaniment of a military band; you will enjoy a walk around bustling Covent Garden the former fruit market now a piazza lined with shops, street entertainers; on to the City of London to learn about the Great Fire of 1666 the Bank of England and the Mansion House, home of the Lord Mayor; on to Sir Christopher Wren's masterpiece, St Paul's Cathedral.

If time permits, visit Oxford Street for some last minute shopping. Tonight you have seats for a top West End show such as The Lion King, Oliver, or Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat.

Day Six: Royal Palaces

Today we leave the city to explore some of the most famous royal residences around the capital.
We start our day at Hampton Court Palace on the banks of the River Thames surrounded by parkland, dating back nearly 500 years. Henry VIII rebuilt and extended the buildings and all the subsequent royals stayed here, until it was used to imprison Charles I during the Civil War. You will see the state apartments, containing a large part of the Queen's art collection, and also visit the spectacular formal gardens, set in over 60 acres. From here it is a short drive to Windsor and its Castle, the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world and still home to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Your visit includes Queen Mary's Dolls' House, and St George's Chapel. The town of Windsor itself has many interesting buildings dating from the 17th century. The Old King's Head is said to be where William Shakespeare wrote “The Merry Wives of Windsor” and just before Windsor Bridge is Sir Christopher Wren's House. Across the bridge lies famous Eton College founded in 1440, during the reign of Henry VI. You will also visit Runnymede Island where King John was forced to seal the Magna Carta in June 1215.

Day Seven: London & Airport

Last minute shopping and a final "Flight" (ride) on the London Eye. Return coach transfer to your London Airport for your return flight home.
