Day One: Arrive London
On arrival at your London Airport, you will be met by your UK Connection Representative and transferred to your London accommodation.Depending upon arrival times there may be time for a self-guided, walking orientation tour of the area around your accommodation followed by dinner at a choice of centrally located restaurants.
Day Two: London to Liverpool
Leaving your London accommodation this morning after breakfast we drive north and west towards the bustling port of Liverpool. Arrive Liverpool area around mid-day and check into your hotel.This afternoon you start your visit in Matthew Street and visit the Beatles Shop and Matthew Street Gallery. The Cavern Pub (opposite the Cavern Club) contains memorabilia relating to the Beatles. From here it is a short walk to the recently renovated Albert Dock. The Beatles Story Exhibition at Albert Dock shows the lives and times of John, Paul, George and Ringo, from the band's early days right through to their solo careers.
Later this afternoon we have booked you a seat on a Beatles Magical Mystery Tour, departing from the Beatles Story Exhibition and finishing two hours later at the Cavern Club. The tour is presented by an expert guide on a vintage 1960s coach identical to the coach used in the 1967 film Magical Mystery Tour. The tour visits over 30 sites, including the Beatles' former homes, schools and birthplaces Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields.
Dinner and overnight in the Liverpool area.
Day Three: Liverpool to Edinburgh
Leaving after breakfast we drive north through the beautiful Scottish Borders and lowlands to Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh. Your city tour will take you to all the main sights including the Royal Mile, Palace of Holyroodhouse and Greyfriars Bobby. Our tour includes a visit to the apartments of the impressive Edinburgh Castle perched high on the rock, views of Holyrood House, the official Scottish residence of the Queen and Arthur's Seat. We will also see the Royal Mile, the 18th century New Town with its classical facades, the new Scottish Parliament building and Princes Street with the ornate Scott Memorial. Later you may wish to take an excursion to the Rosslyn Chapel recently brought to notoriety by the 'Da Vinci Code'.
Day Four: Edinburgh to York
A long drive south now to the beautiful former Roman settlement of Eboracum or York.Once the Roman capital of Northern England, York has witnessed wars, peace agreements and prosperity throughout its turbulent history. Marvel at the colossal 13th Century York Minster, home to half of all the medieval stained glass window in Europe.
Overnight in the York area.
Day Five: London
Morning drive south down the M1 to London.This afternoon, make a sightseeing tour of the city by coach. Your tour will take you past many of London's most famous monuments - the Houses of Parliament with Big Ben, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square with the statue of Lord Nelson, Pall Mall and much more the magnificent Gothic Westminster Abbey which has been the site of every coronation since 1066; Buckingham Palace; you will enjoy a walk around bustling Covent Garden the former fruit market now a piazza lined with shops, street entertainers.
Tonight you have seats for a top West End play such as The Lion King, Oliver, or Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream coat.
Dinner and overnight in London.
Day Six: London & Airport
Last minute shopping and a final "Flight" (ride) on the London Eye. Return coach transfer to your London Airport for your return flight home.
